Reducing the things I want should be the goal.
One of the things on which my mind returns to - is the clean, pure, beautiful note - from the bansuri.
I think its worth wanting, worth trying for, worth practicing more. There is beauty there - a simple, elemental beauty. The note is the simplest expression of beauty.
With the D# flute I have now, lets try to get long steady notes with gradual and delicate endings. The "सा" should not be jarring or intruding on the world. It should arise from the music of the world and after a sustain - dissolve into it again.
