"Atmospheric rivers" - a media term which has caught on recently - meaning a large system of water laden clouds which drops and impressive amount of rain and snow - mostly in the Sierra mountains.

The other natural force is fire! This is us driving thru a "shortcut" forest road. The stuff is ash, not snow.
